The Hutt River Economy

1. Rural Production:

The Rural production of the Principality of Hutt River arises from the growing of wheat, White and Blue Lupins, and Barley, as well as Fat Lamb production, Wool and the sale of Sheep for export.

A Wildflower industry also exists; produce is exported to Perth, Western Australia and from there on throughout the globe. Some flowers are dispatched from the Principality fresh, while others are treated in various ways before dispatch.

The following are some photographs of flowers in various states, growing, fresh cut and some already treated.

2. Tourism:

The Principality also receives a steady flow of visitors throughout the year many of which are campers and caravans/mobile homes who often wish to spend a night or two in the Principality and take a break on their journey, thus tourism also forms an important part of Hutt's economy.

To this end the Principality is presently able to provide simple needs which include limited connection to power, toilet/shower block on-site, limited drinking water, all at a very minimal per night cost to any who may wish to stay a night or two. A "campers kitchen" is currently near completion, though is already being well made use of along with the 4 burner gas B-B-Q that is provided.

Hutt River Postage Stamps, Bank Notes, Coins, Flags and various Souvenirs are well sought after and books & CD’s of Prince Leonard’s writings and those of “ 5 19 The Royal College Of Advanced Research” are also available for purchase at both the Post Office and the souvenir shop.

Details of the Principality's stamps and souvenirs etc can also be found elsewhere on this site.
