Chief Commissioner Metcalfe
reports:...............
"The Remembrance
service went off great. I enclose photograph of Deputy Chief
Commissioner S. Metcalfe and Commissioner C. Verwimp with our wreath just
prior to the service held in the Royal Canadian Legions hall here in
Outlook.
We were very well received.
We gave out leaflets after the service to veterans and members of the
public who had shown an interest in us. Since we commenced delivering
"Meals on Wheels" last February we have delivered 293 meals, assisted the
nurse at the "Wellness" clinic on 6 occasions and transported one elderly
lady to Outlook hospital. This all aside from other duties as previously
advised."
"On
lst November we held our first AGM and the one years service star was
awarded to C.Verwimp and the Hallamshire medal of merit to L Dixon and C.
Verwimp...."
Chief
Commissioner Metcalfe also reported to us that in October 2006 the Mayor
of the nearby town of Broderick, Mr, Mark Verwimp (see photo) signed up as
a uniformed member of the Unit and a welcome is extended to Mark from all
of us here at Hutt.
Chief
Commisioner Metcalfe is also to be congratulated in accepting an
appointment as a Director of the Outlook Town Museum and in line with this
Chief Commissioner Metcalfe has forwarded a number of photographs of the
Town of Outlook along with a little more information to help us all see
what and where Outlook is.
